Sonno is sleep – and the bronze female is tightly curled to one side, in a foetal position. Her body is one with the notion of deep slumber, her limbs captured in a series of lines that converge into the unconscious space. She is not exactly a person as she is symbolic of this restful sleep. Perhaps she does not dream nor is she to wake; while her body enacts the total presence of being secure and unaware of us as viewers, in her repose.
