This baby was modelled after a newborn child. Carved from white Carrara marble, the softness and translucency of the surfaces imbue the figure with lightness – a lightness of spirit that befits the youngest and unburdened a soul might ever be in this physical world. The natural state of the newborn’s posture denotes alertness and joie de vivre.
