Allo Specchio

Here is the lady who dresses before her mirror – classical repertoire again, offers us examples in the lady at her toilet. Like the smaller works Anna accomplishes, this piece is done entirely by hand without drafts. She feels her way around the female form, and the mood of a lady before her mirror: in part a vanitas even, imbibing both the lightness and the depth of her activity. She is both her past and her future, the lady in the flesh of the present moment, looking at who she is, inside and outside. Allo specchio literally means, ‘in the mirror’. A simple, yet powerful rendering.
